Terms of service

The short version: we plan lunches and shopping lists; you stay in charge of what your family eats.

1. What the service is

Lunchbox Quest is a planning tool for school lunches. A child plays a taste game, a parent sets a weekly budget and a store, and we generate lunch suggestions, preparation steps, a consolidated grocery list and cost estimates. Children use the game; parents own the account and make every food decision.

2. Not medical or nutrition advice

Suggestions are for convenience and variety. They are not medical, dietary or nutritional advice and do not account for your child’s health conditions. Talk to a pediatrician or registered dietitian about your child’s needs, and use your own judgement about portions and frequency.

3. Allergies and food safety are your responsibility

Allergies, diet restrictions and “never serve” lists you enter are applied as hard filters, but we rely on the information you give us and on general food data. Products and recipes vary. Always verify product labels. Ingredients can vary by brand and store. We never represent any lunch as “allergen-free”, and you must verify every ingredient before serving it to a child with an allergy or a medical diet.

4. Estimates

Grocery costs are estimates built from reference catalog prices and an indicative store multiplier. They are labelled as estimates, count whole packs, are not quotes, and will differ from your receipt. We do not integrate retailer pricing or carts.

5. Accounts and children

You must be the parent or legal guardian of any child you add, and an adult where you live. Children do not create accounts. You are responsible for keeping sign-in links and your device secure.

6. Plans, trials and cancellation

  • The Free plan is free and limited; current limits are shown on the pricing page and may change.
  • Paid plans renew monthly or yearly at the price shown when you subscribe, until cancelled.
  • Free trials convert to a paid subscription when the trial ends unless cancelled before then.
  • Cancel anytime from Account. Access continues to the end of the paid period; we do not pro-rate refunds except where the law requires it.
  • Prices may change for future periods; we will tell you before a change applies to you.

7. Acceptable use

  • Use the service for your own household.
  • Do not scrape, reverse-engineer, overload or try to break the service, or use it to collect data about other people’s children.
  • Do not upload content you do not have the right to share.
  • Creators in the referral programme must follow the programme rules and disclosure requirements.

8. Gear links

Gear pages may contain affiliate links to third-party retailers. Purchases are made with the retailer under its terms; we do not sell or ship products. See our affiliate disclosure.

9. Your content and our service

You keep ownership of what you enter. You give us permission to process it in order to run the service for you. We may update, change or discontinue features; we will give reasonable notice of material changes to paid features.

10. Termination

You can delete your family and account at any time from Account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put children or other users at risk. On termination, your data is deleted as described in the privacy policy.

11. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided “as is”. To the extent permitted by law we exclude implied warranties and limit our liability to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before a claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. (Counsel: confirm jurisdiction-specific wording.)

12. Changes and contact

We may update these terms; the current version is always at this address and material changes will be announced in the app. Questions: hello@lunchbox-quest.example.
